Review: Savoir Adore Live at 90.3 the Core
by Kevin Horton

Don’t let their up beat
summertime sound fool you, when it comes to performing, Savoir Adore does not
mess around. 90.3 The Core was fortunate to have them record a live session
that aired on Wednesday March 10th at 8pm on Eclecticism. It featured
several previously unreleased tracks including “Hollywood,” “Honestly,” and
“Sparrow”. They showed up to the station ready to go and believe me they went
in! The first song they played was the unreleased “Hollywood” and then whizzed
straight into the driving beat of “Early Bird”. Up next were two also
previously unreleased “Honestly,” and “Sparrow” followed by “We Talk Like
Machines,” and “Bodies.” “Transylvania Candy Patrol” was the final track.
For those that do not know, the
Brooklyn-based duo was voted as one of “Eight Brooklyn Bands You Need to Hear”
by L Magazine in 2009. Deidre Muro is on the keyboard and Paul Hammer takes up
the lead guitar with both of them switching back and forth on vocals. The
current touring line up us rounded off by David Perlick-Molinari, Gary Atturio,
and Tim McCoy. Savoir Adore is currently touring to support their latest
release “In the Wooded Forest” with fellow Brooklyn locals Mon Khmer, they have
tour dates lined up through out the south now: Tennessee, Kentucky, Louisiana,
as well as an appearance at South By South West. Expect them to be back in the
New York area by the end of March with shows at The College of New Jersey on
March 26th, 2010 and at The Brooklyn Bowl in Brooklyn with The Grates
on March 27th, 2010. Check them out on
Myspace or
Facebook.
