Album Review: Savoir Adore - In the Wooded Forest
by Lauren Jefferson

You know that band with the ultra-catchy sound that you’ve always wanted? Savoir Adore has come to the rescue! This Brooklyn boy/girl duo has one of the most addictive and infectious albums out right now. Now, a lot of bands are coming out of Brooklyn these days, but Savoir Adore is something different. Trust me. Your ears will thank you.

Much akin to Broken Social Scene and Arcade Fire, Savoir Adore has the same quality of lush innocence in their music. Not only can these two capture something that few new indie bands can, they also know how to rock and get down. From the funky beats of “MERP” to the driving synths in “Farewell My Love,” Savoir Adore has versatility, which is a major plus. Bands like Phoenix, The Raveonettes, and Magic Wands come into mind when I think about Savoir Adore. This album is a very impressive and highly addictive.

Having toured with MGMT, Bishop Allen, and Los Campesinos!, I imagine that we’ll being seeing a lot more from these two.
