What inspired your show name?

To me, the word Astral defines aspects of life beyond the materialist conception of reality. I aspired for my show to include music that delves into themes related to the human spirit, our inner child, and the emotional identity that lies beneath our outward appearance. The word Astral prompts me to imagine melodies that open up the universe inside a person's spirit—the holy wilds that hold our changing emotions and the aviary of our souls. I wanted my show to shift perspectives, to see anew, and to celebrate the kaleidoscope of our human nature.

What made you want to join The Core?

I want to share my music. I've always held that one song can move you, change you, and evoke powerful emotions in people. Music is a form of communication, a universal language that anyone can understand. I just really wanted to have a platform to share songs that changed me, and hopefully I can have that impact on others.

Tell us what you've been listening to/playing recently!

Artists I have been listening to recently: Cold Cave, Imogen Heap, Whitearmor, Yung Lean, Bladee, Lil Peep, Black Kray/Sickboyrari, Inga Copeland, Adrianne Lenker, Snow Strippers, Wicca Phase Springs Eternal, Sidewalks and Skeletons.

What has been your favorite DJ experience so far?

Being in-studio!

Who would be your dream guest on your show?

Currently, I would say Yung Lean. He is always true to himself and authentic in his music, which is something I greatly admire. I would love to have a conversation about what goes through his mind when music-making.

Any advice for prospective DJs?

If you feel deeply about your music, let the world know! Share it! Tell everyone what this song means to you. It is your show, so be you, play what you like, no matter what anyone else thinks :)
