What inspired your show name?

The name comes from this 80s hardcore band, The Minutemen. “Econo” represents a do it yourself, low production, attitude and outlook.

What made you want to join The Core, and when did you become a DJ? What is your involvement?

I wanted to join The Core because the people involved were just really nice, and it seemed to really encapsulate New Brunswick’s amazing DIY/underground music scene. I became a DJ last year as a freshman, and I’m involved with occasional promo work and Zine making.

Tell us what you've been listening to/playing recently!

Recently I’ve been listening to a lot of Silver Jews, Smog, and Ween.

What has been your favorite DJ experience so far?

Last year at Corefest, where I ran around handing the rest of my zines to random people so I could see Sweeping Promises.

John Waters

Don’t play bad music.
