On Saturday, October 25th, 2025, many a Corehead convened at the Cook Student Center for 90.3 The Core's Annual Spooky Sounds! Folks came dressed in costume and ready to rock out to performances from local NJ/NY bands Guitar Zero, F.T.S., and Cabin Fever!
First to perfom was F.T.S. (@f.t.s.bandofficial), a hardcore punk band from Phillipsburg, NJ that packed all the punches. The set featured Nick on Vocals, Matt on drums (festively dressed as a banana), Dave on bass (festively dressed as a jack-o-lantern), Derrik on guitar, and Alex, also on guitar.
Next was Cabin Fever (@cabin_feverband), an NYC-based act who soundtracked the night with a chill indie rock repertoire inspired by the likes of The Strokes, Green Day, and Arctic Monkeys. The performance featured lead vocalist and rhythm guitarist Matt Quirk, drummer Jon Miele-Herndon, bassist Luke Uppenbrink, and Alex LoPinto on lead guitar and backing vocals.
Lastly, New Brunswick's own Guitar Zero (@guitar_zero.nb) took to the stage with their invigorating set. Their pop-punk vibe was not only energizing, but befitting-- performers Finola Rose (vocals), Gavriel Joran (drums), Emi Camille (guitar), and Ray Cho (bassist) all came dressed as the pop-punk pioneer Hayley Williams, frontwoman of Paramore.
Meanwhile, DJs, students, and community members all revelled in the great music and spooky festivities. Altogether, it proved to be a spell-binding and bone-chilling night at 90.3 The Core. Thank you to everyone for coming out and sharing in the scary celebration. See you next year!
